History

James McMullan and Son has over 100 years experience serving the local community in times of bereavement.

In the early part of the last century the late Andrew McMullan (sen.), a tailor by trade, started to undertake funerals in the Aghadowey district. In the 1960’s his son James purchased McAteers of Ballymoney and the business was transferred to its present location in High Street in Ballymoney. In the 1980’s, Andrew, the third generation joined the firm.

Andrew is a qualified Funeral Director holding the Diploma in Funeral Directing, Diploma in Funeral Service Management and is a member of the British Institute of Embalmers.

During 2005 an additional branch was added when the business of John. A Moore & Co of Kilrea was acquired.
